For our exam, Mendel's monohybrid cross gives a 3:1 ratio for a single trait, while the dihybrid cross for two traits gives 9:3:3:1. We just mug these numbers up. But sometimes, sitting in this library, I think my own life feels like a dihybrid cross—balancing family hopes and my own tiredness, never getting a perfect 9:3:3:1 outcome, always something mixed.
