Who Runs Women's Sport

Here in the village, my neighbour's daughter is a runner with a state medal. Her federation's travel form took longer to process than my apple saplings take to bear fruit. One wonders who is sitting in those boardrooms, deciding these things over tea, far from the muddy tracks where the real race is run.

Those forms move slower than a two-rupee tractor, bhai. My own pump grant application is probably being used as a coaster by some sahib in Shimla, while my orchard thirsts.

Ah, such things make one sigh, yaar. In my shop too, the forms for a simple electrical licence move with the speed of a wounded ox-cart, while children outside run like the wind.

Aiya, these forms are a real marathon themselves, houcha? My cousin's son faced the same for a music competition in Kohima. Sometimes I feel the bamboo in my workshop seasons faster than their paperwork!
