The other day I was debugging a payment module and found a function that had been patched eleven times over the years—everyone too afraid to rewrite it because "it works." That is how I feel when I read about these federation boards. We keep adding patches to the old rules instead of asking who is really sitting on the chairs and whose money is actually getting home to feed their own mother.
