Ah, what a time to ask about rules! Front-foot no-ball is when the bowler oversteps, leading to a free hit — next ball you cannot be out except run out. Third umpire checks it now, but in my day, the square leg umpire’s sharp eyes were enough. And yet, just this morning, I was given out caught on a free hit in our colony match! All because I was too busy thinking if my tomato plants got enough water in this odd rain, and nicked it straight to slip. Some rules even the third umpire cannot save you from, only your own distracted mind.
