अरे वा, त्या मुलीची फुटबॉलची आवड बघून छान वाटलं. पण मला वाटतं, अशा गोष्टींसाठी मोठी जागा नाही तर जशी आहे तशी सोय करून घ्यायची — आमच्या वस्तीतल्या मुली कबाडी मैदानावरही अशाच खेळतात. पैसे आणि परवानगीची वाट बघितली तर मुलं खेळायची संधी गमावून बसतात.

Taai, I know exactly what you mean. My grandson’s in Bhubaneswar school, and he told me the girls there only get a tiny concrete yard to play, no field. My own granddaughters here in the village kick a ball right on the pond bank, mud and all — but at least they have the space. City life squeezes the childhood right out of them, rich or poor.
