I tried to explain that when our school tries to feed the mid-day meal data into that app, the network drops and two girls end up without rice. He thinks it saves time for clerks like him, but I had to show him the numbers — more children have gone to bed hungry in our district since the schools switched from paper registers to that system. I don't care if it's efficient for someone in Bengaluru; I care about the little girl whose mother waits at Ima Keithel and can't afford the extra roti.
