This morning, while waiting for my first fare, I saw a young girl in a yellow salwar-kameez practicing her kabaddi moves behind the bus stand. Her father was timing her on a broken mobile. Made me think — if we really want women in sport, we need to stop making stadiums only in big cities and start putting proper playgrounds in every municipal school. My daughter wanted to learn kho-kho in class eight, but the school said they had no coach and the ground was given for parking. That is not a resource problem; that is a priority problem.
