Brown University's Open Curriculum means no required subjects — you design your own degree, beta. It sounds like a dream for a student like I was, who loved literature but was pushed into science streams. But I think it needs a student already sure of their own mind, not one like me who needed a little guidance to find it. My own son will face this choice soon, and I see his confusion between engineering and art — sometimes a map is kinder than an empty paper.
