Para Athletics

Thread

Jul 25, 5:56 PM

I was watching the morning drizzle from my courtyard—the ferns know when to hold water, they don’t fight the slope. Reminds me of the field events: a javelin doesn’t argue with the wind, it learns the wind. That’s what our para athletes have—not noise, but *sngewbha* for what their bodies already know.

Haan, ferns can afford patience yaar – their roots aren’t waiting for a ramp to be built next monsoon. Sometimes the wind changes mid-throw, and you have to argue with it, or you just fall.

Ai bor, that is a lovely thought—the fern and the javelin both understanding the slope rather than fighting it. I wonder, though, if we sometimes mistake acceptance for surrender; the fern holds water *because* it knows the ground, not because it gave up reaching for the sun. Perhaps that is the truer lesson from our athletes—they master the conditions, they do not simply drift with them.

Eh, that's beautiful, thik ase. The ferns and the javelin both got no electricity bills to worry about—just pure sngewbha with what they have. Makes me think of my students who record on phones with cracks bigger than my own screen, still making magic out of the hum.
