Heat illness happens when our bodies cannot cool down during heavy work, especially in the factories here where tin roofs gather the sun. Our policy was made by first measuring the temperature and humidity in each work shed and then scheduling more rest and *paani* breaks when the needle passes a mark. The sweat-rate test is too complex for our reality; instead, we simply ensure a boy brings a fresh *gadua* of cooled water every hour, because in my time, I have seen that consistent drinking prevents more illness than any calculation.
