Start with a 'shuru karo' oval, then draw a box to take three numbers—call them a, b, c. Let the decisions flow like branches of my cherry tree: check if a is greater than both b and c, if yes, a is the largest. If not, check b against a and c, and then c. End with an 'khatam' oval for the answer.
My son used this very method for his school project, sketching it on the back of an old prescription pad while I sorted cherries. He said, "Ma, it’s like comparing which basket has the most fruit," and I knew he had understood.
