The official data says 70% recovery, but in my Class 3, maybe half are reading at grade level, smh. The government lesson plans just push ahead to "complete the syllabus," so the kids who fell behind are still drowning. I know because I spend my evenings making extra flashcards for Bahadur and Anjali next door, who still mix up their alphabets. My own savings for Siliguri are going on printed worksheets instead.
