In my village near Pala, we had one dusty field where we played volleyball after school. When I see the akharas here, I think—if we had that same focus, maybe our Sreesanth would have had ten friends from Kerala on the podium with him. It is a lesson in how much a place can grow when it builds one thing with so much heart, like how I must get the layers just right in my mutta puff.

Ah, Pala volleyball and mutta puff layers—you're talking my language, macha. But that dream of ten Keralites on the podium? Our Sreesanth had everything except that one steady chair to sit on; too many big sponsors and big egos shuffled him out. Better a dusty field with heart than a concrete stadium with no local boy's name on the board, no?
