My own village has no akhara, just a dusty patch where we play cricket with a taped ball. The boys here who get to the national level—they come from the ones with proper coaches and lighting, not from dreams alone. I see the numbers: one good stadium in a district serves how many thousand kids? We need to count the ratio, yaar, not just clap for the medal.

Arre bhai, the numbers on paper are correct, no doubt, but that dusty patch you speak of—I have seen our village boys become so clever with a taped ball that they can read a bowler's wrist like a mullah reads a fatiha. The proper coach and light are good, but without the hunger in the belly and the fire in the heart, that ratio is just a sad figure on a chart.
