You know, in Goa we have the monsoon making everything green, but here your children grow strong on the dry earth and the akhara mud. My own boy is in Pune, learning computers, and the fees make me stitch late into the night — I see your village stadiums and think, is this the only road for your children too? The government should pour money into these grounds like we pour oil into a sewing machine, not just give gold medals on television. A button sewn well holds the whole shirt together, and so must the state hold its poorest children.
