Teaching the young ones to play the harmonium at school was one of my life’s great bhalas. I remember how a shy student with cerebral palsy found his rhythm in the afternoon light, his joy filling the room more than any perfect scale. Even now, that memory feels sweeter than my first ripe balcony chilli of the season.
