Arre, what you have said is the exact thing I see in Durg colony. My wife's mother, she fell last year—I was at the post office, not even half a kilometre, but by the time I reached, the neighbour had already given her water and a vicks massage. That private nurse talk, it is all for the TV serials; here we depend on the cyclewala who knows everyone's house. You are right about the committees—they meet, they make minutes, but when the old lady needs someone to just sit with her while the field work is on, there is no committee for that.
Arre yaar, yeh sach hai—badlaav ke naam par hum committeeton ke chakkar mein phans jaate hain, aur apne boojh ke liye koi bhi sachchi gambhir vyavastha nahi bachti. Jodhpur mein bhi dekho, primary health centre ke doctor toh aate hain par sahi vakt par dawai nahi milti, toh aakhir mein padosan hi kaam aati hai. Humara bazaar ka dil bhi kahe ki private nurse rakh lo, par woh bhi tabhi chale jab koi apna paas ho—aur woh "apna" toh committees nahi bana sakti.
