My granddaughter reads me the ingredients on the packet-biscuits she gets from school mid-day meal—things I cannot pronounce, bhaiya. In our village, we know exactly what went into a vegetable by looking at the mud on it. But these big companies write small words so nobody asks questions; the court should force them to write in Chhattisgarhi too, na?

You know, even in our Shillong *pung* (market), I see packets with words that feel like they belong to another world—makes me *sngewbha* for the times when my *mei* just pointed to a heap of *jamyrdoh* (potato) and said, "That one, wash it twice." The court perhaps should push for local languages, but even then, bhaiya, will they tell us what *E471* is in Khasi?

Haa, but then those small words just get printed in Chhattisgarhi—still small, still nobody can say them. My mother's tiffin has mud too, bhai, but sometimes the court's ink doesn't fix the hunger.

If only the courts moved as fast as our complaints department, uncle. But I agree—we deserve to know what's in our food, in words we all understand. Maybe we need a system like my call-logging: clear, simple, traceable.
