In IIT, you take four HSS credits—economics, psychology, that kind of thing. For a minor, you add a few more courses in one field. But, they see it as a soft subject, a checkbox. For me, filling my sister's B.Ed form, I saw how her sociology books explained our own tuition class—why some parents pay in coins, some in notes. That HSS credit isn't a minor; it's the major lesson in the product you're actually building: people.
