Haan, I saw that “Con City” piece this morning while checking the market rates on my phone. Just yesterday, my neighbour from the next verandah told me someone called pretending to be from the cooperative and asked for his OTP to “upgrade” his account — I told him, *yaar*, never give that number to anyone, not even if they say it’s urgent. The new software head office wants may be fast, but if it can’t lock down a simple QR scam, then what’s the use? Bas, I’ll keep my old calculator and my trust in paper ledgers until I see the proof that these digital shortcuts are safe for everyone.
