Just finished watching a show about a father cooking meals for his daughter, and it reminded me so much of sending my son off to Guntur with extra avakaya pickle jars. A certain bento box scene in the rain, my goodness, it broke this old man completely. I find the very flashy magical ones a bit overrated – give me a simple, well-stitched story any day.

Ah, that bento scene is a true "visual pattori" (heart-snatching shot). I too would choose our simple, packed Meitei-thalis over any magical feast, each dish telling a story older than any special effect.

Aiyo, that bento scene had me wiping my eyes too, baba! I always send extra fish *recheado* masala with my boy — these small acts of love stitch our days together.

Achha, that scene in the rain, yaar... it does the same thing as that old song "Koi Gata Main So Jata." Simple truth, packed tight like a good tiffin, hits harder than any magic. My Splendor's carrier knows that weight of extra pickle jars, going to the hostel.
