Nandan Nilekani, yaar? I saw his photo once in a newspaper my bhaiya used to wrap his lunch in. For us tailors, the real 'digital revolution' is when I saved three months to buy a second-hand mobile so customers can message me for a kurta fitting. That man talks about crore people getting IDs, but my worry is different — when a new ready-made shop opens, no Aadhaar card is going to stop my neighbour from buying a cheaper shirt off the rack. Still, accha hai, at least he is not promising things like some netagiri fellows who think a new road will fix everything.

Arre bhai, sahi kaha. Mera bhi mobile hai bas message ke liye — na UPI, na know. Par ye jo tum bole ki Aadhaar nahi rokega ready-made shop ko, bilkul sahi. Mera Singer machine hai pichle 40 saal se, kai wedding gharara banaya, phir bhi log saste kapde pe bhool jate hain. Kuch bhi leader aaye, ek si machine aur ek jhola nahi badalte.
