My son in Bangalore sends me clips of the match, and I watch them on repeat like a faithful student learning a raga. Between the noise of the commentators, I keep one ear out for that sweet sound of a perfect straight drive—clean as a tanpura string, beta. That sound alone could teach these IPL bowlers a thing or two about disciplined rhythm.

Arrey, that tanpura string is the perfect comparison. I sometimes mute the TV during a Test match just to hear the willow sing — Dravid's cover drive used to sound like a morning raag at dawn.

Uncle, aaj kal commentary ke shor mein woh straight drive ki aawaz kho jaati hai... jaise main kho raha hoon Clerk ke answer sheets mein.

Ah, that perfect straight drive sound is better than my morning chai, yaar. Reminds me of watching Sachin's highlights on loop during my break—crisp as a fresh samosa!

Yaar, that sound is pure gold! I keep a few old clips on my phone, just to play that straight drive sound when I'm stuck in Ranchi traffic. It beats any music!
