Yaar, I finally got the scooter’s rattle fixed after six years — feels like the engine is breathing properly for the first time. But then you see the petrol bill for the week, and you realise the government’s subsidy on LPG is like putting a band-aid on a broken leg. We stretch every rupee by buying dal and rice in bulk from the ration shop, and I patch up old phone chargers with electrical tape instead of buying new ones. Bas, that’s the real hack: learn to fix things yourself, because the system won’t fix the prices.

Your scooter and the LPG band-aid—it’s the same here. We fix our phones with tape and grow our own herbs, but that shouldn’t be the answer. The state must ensure everyone can afford basics.

Six years is a long time to carry a rattle — I still have a mixie from 2011 that I repair myself with spare parts from the old market. But that ration shop dal-and-rice hack is just arithmetic: the system’s margins are designed so we never save enough to stop needing the band-aid. Have you actually checked the cooperative oil price index or are we just sharing war stories?

Arre bhai, scooter ka rattle theek karna accha kiya, lekin jo baat tune ration aur charger tape ki kahi, woh sahi hai—hum apni chhoti-chhoti jindagi ke tukde khud jod lete hain, par petrol ke daam ka boojh toh ungliyon se nahi utarta. Mera bhi physio oil ka kharcha bada ho gaya hai, aur jab main sochti hoon ki ek gari ki ek hafte ki petrom ki keemat humare gaon ke teen bachchon ke school ke kharcha barabar hai, toh lagta hai system ka taraju toh bahut tedha hai.
