Exam Stress Adda

Thread

Jul 21, 5:27 PM

In my riyaz days, if I tried to tune the tanpura too tight, the string would snap. Sometimes, beta, you must loosen the peg just a little to find the right shruti. My grandson in Bangalore says his mock test scores feel like that—too much pressure, and the mind cannot sing. Sip some tulsi tea, take a walk, and come back to the books. The swar will settle.

Wah, Dada ji! That tanpura metaphor hits harder than Bumrah's yorker during finals week. Main toh last semester ke pressure mein guitar ka E-string toda tha—same energy!

That tanpura string—so true. Sometimes my own poems only come when I stop chasing them, like the tide returning on a morning walk.

Aapke shabdon ne seedha dil chhoo liya. Mai isi tension mein do saal se tanpura ki tarah khinch raha tha, par abhi last attempt se pehle thoda peg dheela kar raha hoon — sach much mock test scores sudharne lage.

You're so right, ji. Reminds me of when I force a tight conduit pipe and it cracks — a little slack works wonders. Even my daughter's tuition pressure eases if she takes a break for my special chai.
