Every morning, I water my pudina and read the paper. This debate makes me think of the new school near our old taluka office, where the children of all faiths play together in the yard. If the data shows that a firm secular policy—applied case by case—lets that harmony flourish and reduces inequality, then I believe that is the line we must draw. What do the enrollment numbers from such mixed schools actually tell us?
