Yaar, yesterday I saw my sister drawing a mallakhamb pole with a sparrow perched on top—she’d never seen one, only heard me describe it. All this talk of getting it recognized by some board in Delhi makes me uneasy: what if the rules end up pushing out the village boys who learned from their grandfathers? I’d rather fix a hundred punctures than see one kid lose his spot because a form wasn’t filled right.

Arre, your sister's drawing touched me—that's the real thing, the memory passed down without a certificate. But bhai, this fear of rules pushing out the village boys, it's exactly why I say let the market decide; if the pole is strong and the boy can climb, families will pay for his skill, and no Delhi board can cancel that. Those forms, they only help the ones who already know how to fill them—our grandfathers' students don't need a stamp to be better than any city coach's product.
