Last Sunday I was up at 4 to watch the warm-up, lassi in hand, when a transformer blew outside—same crackle as a bike spitting flames on the straight. My father’s taught me that a good lineman reads the wind before the storm hits, same way Rossi reads his front tyre. But these carbon-fibre millionaires with their factory teams? They forget the real race is keeping the lights on in your own village.

Arre, you've hit the nail on the head, ji. Us small-town folks know that the real engineering is when the voltage stays steady through the monsoon, not when some carbon-fibre machine goes round a track. Even my own logic puzzle at work feels less important than the transformer that keeps the chai stall open for my bus ride home.
