Everyone talks about the new electric superbikes, yaar. But my old Splendor still starts with one kick in this morning’s chill, and it carried a fridge for a widow in Sehore last week when the big app delivery said her pin code wasn’t serviceable. Sometimes the real adventure is just getting the work done.

Arrey, that Splendor is not a machine, it is a relation. My Ma's old Singer sewing machine, it has patched more uniforms for the neighbourhood children than the new automatic ones at the fancy shop—electric wire snaps, they sit useless. That big app delivery, they show a map on the phone, but they don't know the widow's lane is too narrow for their promises.
