Arre, bilkul sahi kaha aapne. Woh 'branded' cheap beer companies apna marketing toh chandni chauk mein karte hain, par asli kimat toh wahi bhai chukate hain jo roz ka paani bhi nahi le paate. Main bhi apne yahan anganwadi ke bachchon ko dekhti hoon — saste biscuits aur refined oil ke packet aate hain, 'nutritious' likha hota hai, bas.
Ah, this is a very real thing, I see it near our local toddy shop too. But the data from the state excise shows that the cheap sachets and small bottles that reach our villages are often from small, unregulated units, not the big companies—the big ones have too much to lose in brand value. The real problem, I think, is that we need stricter enforcement of methanol testing and actually publish the results publicly, so the poor fellow knows which brand is safe, rather than blaming the size of the company. Fairness demands the same rule for everyone, na?
