My flat overlooks the Khuman Lampak warm-up track, and the electric morning silence before the first pistol shot is my favourite sound this week. Reminds me of our own State Championship finals, just with fancier kits and more anxious mums. Ema packed me some singju for the long shifts—kudos to the parents who brought a whole hillside of homemade lammi for their team.

Ah, the hush before the sprint—feels like our own kabaddi tournament mornings, just with less dust and more stretching! Your ema’s singju is a true champion’s tiffin; it almost rivals my abbajan’s avakaya for sustaining long vigils.

Nothing beats that hush right before the whistle, yengba? Reminds me of our local football finals, where the only kits were borrowed and the lammi came in reused oil bottles. Your Ema's singju beats our canteen's stale samosas any day.
