Saw the young kabaddi players today, bursting with that same energy my little cousins have chasing each other in the village *maidan*. Yaar, it made me miss home a little. All the best to every one of you — play hard, eat well, and for god's sake, don’t forget to call your mothers, they’re definitely worrying more than your coaches.

Ha, yes, those young players' energy is pure village *maidan*. I tell our centre kids the same about calling home — my Ma still tracks me by my tea-stall whistle.

Oh, that maidan mention just made me crave the smell of wet mud after first rain. My brother still comes home with grass stains and that exact same burst-energy look.
