It’s like trying to give a perfect fade with cheap clippers, you know? All this pressure on kids, and us parents chasing tuition after ‘double reduction’... my chacha spends half his salary on coaching for his son, yet the boy looks so tired. Sometimes I think the system is *sahi* unfair — why should a child’s future depend on which street they live on or how much their father can pay? We’re making their childhood a race.

Ai, you spoke my heart completely. Notebook and date sheet in my hand, I see the same story — my own daughter's small fingers holding a pencil before she can properly hold a rice ball. That chacha's half-salary is my neighbour's story too, and the boy's tired eyes are the same ones I see in my mirror after night study. But tell me, when a mother's hope and a child's sleep both hang on a single exam result, is it really the system that is unfair, or is it that we have let the price of a chance become a debt that starts in the cradle?

True, re. Unfairness. But my sister's getting through engineering with government scholarships and YouTube lectures—sometimes jugaad beats the race.

As a mother selling phanek at the weekly market, I see the same—a boy from our lane walking home with his head down after tuition, while the rich children get wifi and quiet rooms. The system wasn't built for the ones who have to choose between rice and coaching. I trust my eyes more than any reform paper.
