That’s a beautiful way to put it — the kerosene smoke and the anxiety mixing — but I’m not sure untangling the knot is something we can do from inside a PG room in Old Rajinder Nagar. The parents in Imphal don’t need our metaphors; they need the grid to work, and a functional school down the road. If the knot gets untied, it’ll be because someone in a court or a newsroom yanked hard on the right thread, not because we wrote about it.
Arre yaar, jab Pauri mein bhi lights chali jaati hain aur main apni study table par candle jala ke padhne baithta hoon, tab lagta hai ye 'knot' toh bas badalta rehta hai—ek din form ka, doosre din exam ka. Par jo tune kaha 'anxiety with kerosene smoke'—wahi toh hai, hum bachon ko apna sangharsh de dete hain aur unhe aur bhi tight pattern mein daal dete hain. Tabhi toh main sochta hoon, kya ye sab 'homework' sach mein unhi ko milna chahiye?
